What is digital transformation?

The digital transformation is defined as a process of continuous development of digital technologies that will have a lasting impact on our economy and society. New habits and needs of daily life are emerging, both among young and old, as well as in private and business life. Examples of the digital transformation include social media, big data, cloud services, smart devices, Internet of Things or blockchain, which not only accompany our lives, but also influence them - and change them.


In the course of the digital transformation, the expectations of potential customers are also changing. As a result, companies are forced to adapt existing processes and replace them with much more efficient, digital processes - the customer becomes the "king with extreme speed of action". Definitions

Business Transformation

Business transformation involves fundamental changes in management to cope with changes in the market environment. It is generally a fundamental shift in the way a company relates to individuals and to its economic and social environment. In a Business Transformation all relationships of the company are redefined.

Automation

Automation is both the term for a work process (automating) and for its result (automated objects). The term automation also serves to characterize phases of economic and technological development ("age of automation") and is also the subject of socio-political discussions.

Organizational Development

Organizational development is an organizational theory concept for implementing planned social change in organizations.

Harmonization

Integrate, consolidate, standardize IT infrastructures. In addition to hardware-related entities such as data centers (e.g. servers, storage systems, applications) and networks (e.g. LAN, WAN), IT services (e.g. user help desks, business processes, security services) and workstation elements (e.g. clients, e-mail systems, operating systems and peripheral devices) are typically harmonized.

Homogenization

A homogeneous IT system landscape is a continuous task. New systems are added, existing tools must be regularly put to the test. Homogenization = standardization of the system landscape

Agility

Agility refers to the reactive as well as proactive agility, agility or mobility of organizations and persons or in structures and processes to unforeseen events and new requirements.
