Goal

The aim of the project was to significantly increase the company's speed to market. Existing processes were to be analyzed and optimized using digital solutions.

 Initial Situation

The logistics company mainly used paper-based processes to manage stock levels, orders and transportation. This led to long processing times, delays and high operating costs.

 Measures

   - conducting workshops and interviews with employees to gain a detailed insight into current processes.  

  - Identification of bottlenecks and inefficient processes.

2. Implementation of a transport management system (TMS)

   - Introduction of a digital transport management system to automate and optimize transport planning and processing.

   - Real-time tracking of deliveries and dynamic route planning to minimize delivery times.

3. Digitization of the warehouse management system (WMS)

   - Implementation of a modern warehouse management system for the automatic management and optimization of warehouse stocks.

   - Use of barcode and RFID technologies to speed up warehouse processes.

4. Automation of order processing

   - Introduction of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for automated communication and order processing with customers and suppliers.

   - Implementation of workflow automation to reduce manual intervention and speed up processing times.

5. Training and Change Management

   - Training employees in the use of the new digital tools and systems.

   - Measures to promote acceptance and understanding of the changes.

6. Monitoring and continuous improvement

   - Setting up dashboards and KPI monitoring to monitor the performance of the new processes.

   - Regular review and adjustment of processes based on the data collected and feedback from employees.

 Results

- “Speed-to-market increase”: Speed-to-market was increased by 80 percent, enabling the company to significantly shorten its delivery times.
